Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games – At a Glance
- Dates: 23 July – 2 August 2026
- Team size: 114 athletes (66 women and 48 men), including 22 para-athletes.
- Sports programme: The Games will feature 10 sports – Athletics, Swimming, Track Cycling, Boxing, Artistic Gymnastics, Lawn Bowls, Judo, Weightlifting, Netball and 3x3 Basketball (including Wheelchair Basketball).
- SportsAid Cymru's impact: Historically, between 25% and 30% of Team Wales athletes have received support from SportsAid Cymru during the early stages of their sporting careers.
Team Wales 2026 Squad
The official Team Wales squad comprises 114 athletes. Listed below are those who have previously received SportsAid Cymru support as developing athletes, together with those who are now part of Senior Elite or Academy performance programmes.
It is worth noting that many athletes who were supported by SportsAid Cymru during their development have since progressed onto Senior Elite or Academy pathways. A good example is Medi Harris from Porthmadog, who received SportsAid Cymru funding earlier in her career and is now part of the Senior Elite programme.
