SportsAid lunch Cardiff October 23.
A warm welcome was extended to the 105 attendees at the fundraising lunch at the Park Plaza Cardiff on Thursday the 26th October.
Our guest speakers Mr Brynmor Williams ( Wales & British Lions) and Mr Phil Steele (broadcaster & rugby commentator) entertained us with memories and stories from the rugby world. There was much laughter and both received rapturous applause.
There were several presentations made. Firstly, to John Hinchliffe former Chairman & Director of SportsAid for his 30+ years of support. Mark Oliver the current Chairperson did the honors.
Secondly, kevin Mccarthy on behalf of the West Wales Committee presented a cheque for £5000 to the Rt Honorable Dr Kim Howells our President. An amazing amount and a big thank you to the team and those who attend their events in Carmarthen.
Thirdly, a cheque for £1825 was presented by Mr Gethyn Hudson & Mr Huw O'Sullivan to Mark Oliver. A charity golf day had been arranged in memory of Mr Peter Tredwell who sadly passed earlier in the year. Peter was a great supported of all welsh sport. Gethyn is Peters son in law and Huw his neighbour and best friend.
