Lucy Harris on Target

" Thank you so much for the Wales Sports Aid grant, I am very grateful to you all for my award and I can't wait to put the money towards helping me to continue to progress in my sport.

I have recently been on warm weather training camp with Wales in Monte Gordo, Portugal which went really well. Working with my coaches has helped me prepare for what I hope will be a successful 2025 and I am aiming to be selected for a number of big competitions this month and through the summer that I have been targeting for my University team at Loughborough and Wales.

Last year's grant made a huge difference for me, allowing me the opportunity as a student to obtain new equipment and help fund my travels to competitions across the UK including internationals in Manchester, Loughborough and Eton and age grade championships in Birmingham. Being able to travel enabled me to win the senior Welsh title and U20 title for Discus, and gain my first Welsh senior vest and 3 more Welsh representative vests.

My target for this season is to improve my throws, train well, gain further representative honours while studying during my first-year undergraduate degree.

Thank you again for your support and the award again this year being a student this really makes a difference. "

Thanks

Lucy
