A lovely day at Glamorganshire golf last Friday. The weather was kind, the course was in a lovely condition and the welcome was warm.
Firstly, congratulations to Mal Lewis for winning the Wales & West player of the year for 2023 for the second consecutive year with 25 points over the 4 events.
10 teams entered the team event and there were some good scores.
1st place with 121 points 67 on back 9 were Mal Lewis, Gareth Evans, Colin Thomas & Dean Protheroe winning a 4 ball voucher at the Vale of Glamorgan GC to share with a bottle of wine each.
2nd place with 121 points with 62 on back 9 were Gareth Lewis, Gwyn Jones, Ashley Baldwin & Howard Stone with another 4 ball at the Vale GC to share.
3rd place with 117 points were Jayne Morgans, Colin Pryce, Jenny Pryce & kelvin Jones winning 12 balls to share.
4th place with 114 with 64 on back 9 points winning 8 balls to share were Tony Tullet, Jon Ferguson, Steve Rees & Kevin Eveleigh.
Longest drive winning 3 balls was Rhodri Lewis and Nearest Pin was Colin Thomas again winning 3 balls.
7 2's (2 balls per 2) Steve Rees X 2, Colin Pryce, Steve Owen, Peter Rice, Alan Davies, Richard Downs.
2 raffle prizes , a bottle of wine each Mark Lewis & Peter Rice.
To finish we had a random draw for a 3rd golf voucher at the Vale to share and that was won by Tony Tullet, Jon Ferguson, Steve Rees & Kevin Eveleigh.
Don't forget we have our lunch on Thursday 26th October with guest speakers Phil Steele and Brynmor Williams. Everyone is welcome. Please invite as many guests as you like.
