Excellent Day's Golf
On a quickly rearranged date a great day's golfing was enjoyed at Pwllheli Golf Club on Friday the 21st July, 2023. Many thanks to the Club and all the staff involved for providing such a warm welcome and a course in such good condition.
The team event was played under a four ball better ball format and the local team from Pwllheli consisting of Tony Williams, Gareth Davies, Gerallt Jones and Maldwyn Jones took the honours but only by the narrowest of margins of one solitary point from a team from Caernarfon of Geraint George, Gareth Owens, Elwyn Parry and Bryn P Jones. The team from Pwllheli were helped along by a score of 9 points on one hole with a 2 for 4 points, a 3 for 3 points plus a 3 for 2 points thrown in for good measure - very impressive!.
Gareth Davies was also awarded a prize for nearest to the pin on the 12th plus a tricky, over the pond, nearest to the pin with a second shot on the 5th fell to John Rhys Jones.
Thank you all for taking part and continuing your support for Sportsaid which moves on to Rhosneigr - Anglesey Golf Club - on Friday the 8th September, 2023. It will be a new venue for this group and hopefully we can attract a good turn out to ensure future fixtures.
