"The Cadet season has just finished and I thought I should update you on Sameer’s fencing since my last update in December.
Sameer was selected to represent GBR in both the European and World Cadet fencing championships.
The European championships was held in Tallinn, Estonia.
Competing in the individuals, Sameer finished 18th out of a field of 103.
Then Sameer captained and anchored the GBR team. They won the Bronze medal.
The World Championships was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The Cadets only compete in the individual competition, it was a very tough competition with the top 3 ranked fencers from 51 countries.
Sameer finished 26th. The highest from the GBR Cadet squad.
Sameer also led his school fencing team to win Gold at the British School Teams championships and the following week he won the junior boys trophy at the public schools championships.
Last weekend Sameer led and anchored his club team. To win the British men’s teams championships.
He couldn’t enter the senior men’s British championships because of needed preparation for his GCSEs that start next week."
