It was a great afternoon at the Plaza Hotel Cardiff where our members and guests were treated to both a wonderful lunch and also cricketing stories and memories from Colin Metson.
Colin is a retired first-class cricketer having played for both Middlesex and Glamorgan and was a fine wicketkeeper – being described as the best thing since alan Knott – by no less than the legendary Dickie Bird.
It was great to hear about some of the characters he met during his career with a wonderful insight into the cricketing legend Viv Richards who he played with at Glamorgan.
The lunch was our first event since lockdown and very well attended.
Our grateful thanks to our sponsors Wales and West Utilities and also to the Plaza Hotel who as usual were impeccable hosts for such a prestigious event.
Our next date is confirmed as 11th February 2022 which is the day before the Scotland rugby international.
We are currently working on inviting a well-known rugby personality to be our guest so tickets for this event may be at a premium.
Book early to avoid disappointment.
