At a recent lunch organised by the SportsAid West Wales Committee 2 cheques were presented after a busy year of fundraising.
The first cheque for £10,000 was presented by Dave Butler Chairman of the West Wales Committee to the Rt Hon. Dr Kim Howells, President of Sports AId Cymru Wales.
The second a cheque from the North Wales Committee presented by Alan Hughes, Vice President to Treasurer David Phillips for £6,000.
On behalf of all the Directors we would like to thank both committees for all their continued support through the year and in raising such large amounts of money. The grant recipients who have been met and spoken to have all asked that we passed on our thanks to all those involved. Every pound makes a difference allowing them to train, travel and buy new equipment. Just a reminder that we supported 127 recipients over 24 different sports in 2024.
The lunch was held at the Ivy Buch in Carmarthen and attended by over 190. Our thanks again go to the Ivy Bush, West Wales Committee, attendees and those who donated auction and raffle items. Lastly, to the 2 guests speakers Paul Fielding Comedian and Dennis Taylor World snooker Champion who kept us all entertained.
